Fatboy Izakaya
Fatboy Izakaya, established in 2022, emerged from humble beginnings in 2013 as a cozy neighborhood eatery with just 20 seats in Saladaeng’s back alley.
Founder Mr. Bye Wongchindawest’s vision and passion have transformed it into a thriving establishment with over 120 seats. The restaurant’s expansion also welcomed four key members to the team: Ploy, Jazz, Arnie, and May, all dedicated to hospitality, customer experience, and extensive F&B expertise.
Collaborating with We Design Shanghai and MTM Design, renowned for projects like El Willy (Soi 51) and Hundo (Shanghai), Fatboy Izakaya boasts an impressive aesthetic. The design features a blend of tiles, stone, wooden elements, vibrant colors, and playful art inspired by Japanese pop culture. The two floors offer distinct atmospheres, with an energetic open kitchen on the first floor and an intimate setting on the second, showcasing Fatboy’s minimal yet futuristic design.
Fatboy Izakaya’s culinary offerings redefine izakaya classics with a mix of playful and signature dishes. From Grilled and Potato Salad to inventive creations like Okonomiyaki Poutine Fries and Hamburg with Garlic Shirauo, the menu promises a delightful gastronomic experience.
The restaurant emphasizes a full-service bar, complemented by signature cocktails, highballs, premium sake, shochu, and an unmissable Umeshu/Yuzushu selection. Rooted in core values such as commitment, consistency, and consciousness, Fatboy Izakaya aims to lead the industry through creativity, quality, and a commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
